Morning Mist

This morning while taking the tram to work I passed near a park. Above the lake there was a curtain of thick fog. It sprung from the water like white flames and it crept across the grass, between the trees, by the chess tables stopping a few feet away from the gates. It looked like another world, a different world totally separated from the busy, crowded streets.
The tram left the park behind. I got off at the nearest subway station and took the train for the last part of my journey. Until this morning I did not realize that when getting out from the subway in front of the exit, across the street there is a big field. The office buildings stop abruptly and mud and bushes take over the surroundings. Stopping for a few seconds I saw the mist lurk behind the shrubberies, it was like it had fallowed me. I smiled and carried on walking to the office.
From behind the tall buildings the sun rose in all its glory.
