November

Why is November my favorite month? Maybe because my birthday is in November? And not only my birthday but my name-day as well. Maye… maybe not, or not only.
November is an unpredictable month. So close to Winter but still an Autumn one, expected to be cold and damp, it is different every year. On some years it’s cold and dry, with frostbitten mornings, extremely blue skies and cold winds, other times it’s rainy and you can feel the cold right down to your bones, sometimes it even snows and it’s white and frozen. Or take this year for example, we just had the last thunder storm yesterday. Never in my life have I heard thunder so close to Winter, never!!!
When I was in 8-th grade November barely started when it snowed so hard that all the city turned white in just a night. I had a white birthday that year. When I turned 17 I remember the sky was very blue, so blue and so clear, you could just get lost in it. The chestnut trees were stretching their gray bare branches up to the sky and the cold wind made them hit each other and crack dully. My fingers were freezing but still I kept on walking… And the chrysanthemums, the last flowers that stay in bloom in the gardens till snow falls.
And then, there’s also this song, I am sure it’s in another post as well but, here it is now. Enjoy!

Oh, and did I mention the blue sky?
