Those Were the Days

Little children are so stupid only because they want to grow up faster. Why grow up faster? Life should be lived in its own rhythm. Just two weeks ago I visited my grandmother in the countryside, the place of my childhood, I grew up there, it was the best place to spend the holidays. Anyway, when I wasn’t there, I was at home most of the time watching Cartoon Network, the wonderful tv station which helped me learn English, with beautiful cartoons not like now when most of them probably scare the poor kids. Do you remember “Josie and The Pussycats”? How about “Pound Puppies”? There was something named the “T-Shirts” or somethin like that, I can’t remember and can’t find them on the internet either. Do you know Dick Dastardly and his dog Muttly? Yes, they are the ones from “Wacky Races” and “Dastardly and Muttley in their Flying Machines” (remember “Stop that Pigeon”?) How about “The Perils of Penelope Pitstop”? Well, you can still see “The Jetsons” or “The Flinstones” on tv. Does anybody remember the “violence hour” called “Power Zone”? It took me weeks to convince my parents to let me watch… and the cartoons weren’t even violent… who is afraid of “Space Ghost” anyway?
The reason for my blog is that in the countryside, a village close to a river(yes the village is in danger because of the floods, in about 10-15 years my grandmother’s house will probably disappear) where there is no current water or gas people have cable or as my grandmother has, satelite. Good… so over there I descovered the baby brother of Cartoon Network called Boomerang. I watched some cartoons there which reminded me of my childhood and of the good ol’ Cartoon Network. I laughed a lot with “Captain Caveman”, “Josie and the Pussicats”, “The Hair Bear Bunch” or “Stop That Pigeon”. Oh… the kids these days don’t know what real cartoons mean.
