I am a little behind with writing about what I’ve been up to, had a good reason for that. It’s been a crazy and busy week, the second in a row actually and there are at least two more coming my way. The reason behind the craziness will however, be different.
Latest wave of craze started with the Slash concert last week-end. As a person who has known Guns’n’Roses since I was 8 or 9 (wish I could remember), it was somehow normal that I’d like to see them live. So I did about 2 years ago. Can’t say I was that impressed probably because I saw them in a festival and a lot of great artists played before they actually took the stage . However, seeing Slash rock the stage last week was absolutely amazing plus the artists he is touring with are quite a treat to listen to: Miles Kennedy and the Conspirators. Myles Kennedy and Todd Kerns take care of the leading vocals, in turns, and I must say that they do justice to the old G’n’R songs. Their new material is very rock’n’roll and full of energy. Fortunately they didn’t play any of the old ballads and fortunately they played “You Could Be Mine”, a song I always had a weakness for, some sort of guilty pleasure of mine. Yes, “Sweet Child of Mine” was also included in the setlist and it sounded great.
With that energy boost I entered a week full of important events: exams and project meetings. The exams didn’t involve me directly but this doesn’t mean that they didn’t demand my full attention. For the project meetings there were a few expert researchers discussing important things around a table and…me. How exactly I got there I still have no idea though I remember every step of the process but in a way it still seems a reason to ask myself “what am I doing here again?”. It was stressful, tiring but exciting and interesting. Looking forward for the next one.
Now it’s time to focus on my own project that I’ve been working on for nearly 3 months now. Hope it turns out OK.
